Build a timeline from your booking
Write down the travel date, airport code, operating airline and terminal. Check the airline’s check-in, bag-drop and boarding deadlines; use the airport’s arrival recommendation to plan when to reach the terminal. Do not substitute a universal arrival rule for these details.
Save your boarding pass and booking reference somewhere you can access without a mobile connection. If online check-in is unavailable or document checks are required, allow time at the airline desk.
Plan the journey to the right door
Check the official airport transport page and your operator’s service notices. Include the walk from a station or car park, shuttle waiting time and any terminal transfer in your plan.
Choose a fallback if the first train or bus is cancelled. A delayed flight estimate is not permission to arrive after the original check-in deadline; confirm any change with your airline.
Finish the checks before you relax
At the airport, confirm your flight on the departure screens, complete bag drop if needed and follow the security instructions at that checkpoint. Keep travel documents accessible.
After security, locate the gate or check when it will be announced. Walking time, shuttle rides and boarding can begin well before departure. Set a reminder to recheck the screens rather than relying only on a saved boarding pass.
Policies and laws can change. Confirm urgent or booking-specific questions using the airline or regulator's official source.
